The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) applies from 28 June 2025 to specified products and consumer services, including e-commerce, consumer banking and e-books. Covered websites and apps must meet the applicable accessibility requirements in Annex I. It does not cover every website simply because it is online. National implementing law and transitional provisions matter.
Microenterprises providing services are exempt under Article 4(5): fewer than 10 employees and annual turnover or annual balance sheet total not exceeding €2 million (Article 3(23)). This is not a general exemption for businesses dealing with covered products. Other exceptions and transitional arrangements need a case-specific assessment.
Selected rendered checks use the existing Chromium pass when available: text contrast, target spacing and ordinary paragraph reflow at 320 CSS pixels. Missing resources, complex layouts, time limits and uncertain results are not measured. Keyboard workflows, visible and unobscured focus, non-text contrast, screen readers and purchase flows still need manual testing. This is not a WCAG or EAA compliance certificate.
